Pamela Roberson has been a professional photographer for over 50 years and has worked in 86 countries or territories across 6 continents.

Her focus and eye for phos’graphia (Gr; light painting) began in Paris while studying at the Sorbonne. After graduation she moved to Beirut; started a photography school and worked for National Geographic on a profile of the Druze of Lebanon.

The outbreak of civil war led to a relocation to the high desert American Southwest and entry into the world of fine art photography with the creation of the famed Dunescapes series of color landscapes; a departure from the traditional black and white prints of the time. Her large Cibachrome and Dye Transfer exhibition prints and murals were widely exhibited in one person shows and galleries while she became a frequent workshop instructor and lecturer throughout the country. The challenging environments where she preferred to work, not yet 30years and before mobile phones, opened doors to international assignments and a series of books on mountains and islands of the world over the next decade.

Pamela’s lifetime passion for painting with light; compassion for our natural world and conservation activism continue with the current series on the Arctic and need to protect its water and wonder.
